Great news! The new movie pages are now up and running, and can be found by browsing the top menu bar. At first glance I think you’ll see a big difference – instead of showing you all of our films in one huge dropdown menu we’ve added the ability to filter the type of film you’d like to see. Let me give you a breakdown of what each of the categories mean:
These are the main productions of the company, often requiring the whole team. A requierment for being in this category is a running time of more than five minutes. In this section you can always find the latest big film project we’re working on.
These are mostly films that are made in film school, or as a fun side project. Normally, only films with a running time of five minutes or shorter appear here. But there can be exceptions!
We have recently started work on our first ever proper documentary, set to start shooting in the next few weeks. We’ll have the latest info on this page, which will act as a big centre for everything documentary-related which are similar to featurettes. This section will launch along with our new documentary very soon!
Here you’ll mainly find music videos, event films, photoshoots and other films which were made for another company, and can be considered the portfolio section of our paid work. This section will launch soon due to the rights being a bit more tricky to figure out.
Finally I’m able to sort all of our short and small test films on one large page (it looks pretty gorgeous to be honest with you). Previously test films have only been included in blog posts – I’ve gone back three years in my blogroll and re-encoded every test to HD and uploaded it to Vimeo!
But what about new movies? Well, in the Short Films section you’ll find two entire new films, Moth and Sovrummet, which I’ve made at film school. Recently struck a deal with them which made me be able to post the films online here. Expect more films to pop up shortly!
I’m also planning to have some sort of Portfolio or CV section of the website where I’ll be able to permanently keep a record on films I’ve worked on, but not directed.
Hope you all like the new design! I’m now off to set up a shooting script for our first ever documentary!
Take care everyone!
The movies page of the website is being updated! This is to improve categorization and easier readability for people visiting the website. We’re growing quickly as a company – which means we’ll have to do some rebuilding around the company, but hopefully you’ll like the slightly redesigned Movies section when it launches later this week!
Take care everyone!
Currently we’re full at work on the Harry Spexter DVD which should be done shortly, while starting pre-production seriously on a documentary project I’ll be directing two weeks from now on a small country town here in Sweden. Very interesting, as it’s the first documentary project I’ve ever made (not including some small travel diaries) and a big challenge. Spending the day on the phone and calling around people for the project. Me and my small team are also going down to the location this upcoming Monday to check it out, get inspiration and hopefully get an idea to see what will and won’t work.
Doing some reading up on the GoPro HD cameras – I know a friend who has access to one of them and I think it may be put to some use during the upcoming shoot, maybe as a hidden camera!
Work also continues on the Harry Spexter DVD – it’s been a while, but there’s also been a big bunch of projects, both in school and for the company which has required my time. But don’t fear, it’ll be quite awesome, and be released relatively shortly.
As it stands right now though, the main focus is on our documentary project which really is my next film project, and I’m really gearing up mentally for the shoot – which will be very different from what I’m used to.
Exciting times ahead! Planning to hopefully be able to write something every day during the documentary shoot and possibly post some pictures as well from the shoot.
More info coming soon! Take care everyone!
