Many gears, compatible cogs

Currently on a train on my way home from a fun albeit short two days in Stockholm and Uppsala to go to the Uppsala International Short Film Festival, where my documentary ”Kåseberga” was screened today, representing Skurups Folkhögskola in a big seminar along with a bunch of other film schools in Sweden. Some great networking and some good new friends made. Also met up with Redhawk Productions veteran Johannes – we went out for a walk and some burgers yesterday, so good stuff!

I’m quite tired, the train ride takes around four or five hours to Stockholm so I still have a few hours to go. Tomorrow marks my last work day at Smartfilm (at least for the forseeable future). Going back to Skurup soon and getting everything ready while getting a week of vacation – first real one since early spring of this year. Smartfilm has really been a lot of fun though, I’ve learned a massive amount of stuff, and along with all the new friends I’ve made I have some new ideas and techniques which I’ll bring with me into the future of my filmmaking career.

Along with the end of my time at Smartfilm and Skurup slowly ramping up, I’ll try to find some more time to work on TiD, my latest short film which was shot during the summer. Hopefully I’ll be able to have a screening of the first rough cut for friends at school as well as some other filmmakers. While I won’t do much work during my autumn vacation (yeah, right…) work will pick up again as soon as film school gets going again. Have heard some rumors and plans for the upcoming term, and we have a lot of interesting short projects focusing on various film genres and/or types. Also, it’s going to be fun to dive deeper into cinematography and get some applications ready for where I’ll apply after Skurup – more on that as those application dates march closer towards me.

In just a few weeks we’ll be launching the official Facebook page for TiD, which will feature more behind-the-scenes images and a more steady stream of updates concerning the film. Can’t wait to show the film to all of you, and some of the concept posters we have been working on!

Have a few interesting meetings during the upcoming weeks about many different projects – so loads of gears in motion at the moment, and so far their coming together pretty well.

Speak more soon, hope you all have a great time and speak to you soon!
