Currently sitting in one of the editing suites over at Skurups Folkhögskola and transferring some material for some work I’ll be doing later this summer. We’ve had our good-byes for the first year of film studies here and are now moving into summer break for some time. It’s been an exciting and fun year, I’ve learned a LOT of stuff. It’s had its fair share of hard times with deadlines, internal conflicts etc. but it’s all been such a good experience, and I can’t wait til it begins this November again.

So what will I be doing up until then, besides enjoying some time in the sun? Well, first off I’ll be doing some work on a feature film which is to be shot during the summer and autumn – will drive up to Trollhättan on Monday to pick up some gear, and then we’re moving on to starting the construction of the office for the production. Proper work on that film starts at the beginning of July, so we’ll still have some time to kick back and enjoy some time off. Currently we’re going to start proper pre-production on our upcoming short film which is set to be shot during the summer. Actors and actresses are starting to come together and the core team behind the camera is rapidly forming. I’ve been discussing the potential of doing a follow-up on the documentary shot this spring about Kåseberga, to flesh it out to around half-an-hour to forty minutes and thereby have something to edit for the rest of the year. Still have to see how the schedule will be formed during the summer, so I’m also able to take a break for at least some weeks.

Sales of Harry Spexter och Petriorden has begun at S:t Petri high school, where it will be sold in limited release throughout the summer. To not counteract the sale of the film, the online premiere of the vfx-heavy action filmed has been postponed to late summer/early autumn of this year – as has been the case with previous spex films. But when it finally hits the web, it will be in a new format, which is reedited for the web with a slightly shorter runtime, some alternate scenes and of course, English subtitles. More on this later during the summer, as I hope to be able to put together a big event for the release of the film – to build hype for next year’s spex film – which I’m not directing but obviously giving my full support!

Loads of tech things happening also, as we look forward to the launch of the new version of Final Cut Pro, along with FXhome’s HitFilm, which I’m currently trying out. Yes, it’s quite spectacular.

Stay tuned for more news! Take care everyone!
