I’m currently in full production of my first ever proper documentary! We’ve shot for two days so far, mainly interviews, but it’s been going great so far.
It’s been a good learning process to actually have to interview and shoot people in their ordinary lifes instead of always having to focus on telling a story. Of course, a story is proposed for the film but it sort of eveolves throughout the production process, as you obviously can’t count on people saying what you want them to.
We’re going back later today to prepare for the upcoming three days when we’ll focus more on shooting cutaways and shots of the small village we’re filming in. Should be fun – it’s great to spend so much time outdoors and have a smaller crew.
So for all you nerds (including me), what are we shooting on? Our main camera is a Panasonic HMC-151, with two Canon 7Ds as B and C camera. We’re also using two wireless microphones which really are a treat!
Pictures should be up soon, as the film draws closer to wrapping and it’s page being launched on the website!
Take care everyone!
