After several months of work, the post-production process of Csaba Bene Perlenberg‘s latest film 21 is finally done which aso means the film is completed. Redhawk Productions acted as co-producer on the project, with Nils Croné working as 1st AD on the film and Fredrik Steffen shooting stills during ome of the production. Redhawk Productions also loaned out a bunch of equipment to the shoot.
The film was shot during late summer of 2010 after being in pre-production during several months. It’s working title was Short Film #21, and had a pretty big marketing campaign mostly based on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, but also extending to painting a big graffiti wall in central Malmö:
The short behind-the-scenes video above was shot by Martin Wikner, who you’ll be getting to know more in the following year!
The short film (around 29 minutes) is about a young man who has to deal with his own conscience and gambling addiction while dealing and exploiting his mother who lives with Alzheimer’s disease.
Among the actors in the film are Mattias Malmgren, Karin Bertling, Jim Zachau and Pinar Karaaslan. The film was directed by Csaba Bene Perlenberg with DoP Chris Maris behind the camera.
Working as 1st AD was a fun experience and I learned a LOT during the production. My work with Csaba started in 2009 when I worked as script supervisor on his last film, Superhjälten. After shooting this film and having such a good time, we’ve decided to work together yet again on his new big film project, which I’ll have some more details on in the upcoming months.
So, thanks for showing your support to the project which now has over a thousand fans on Facebook, and hopefully we’ll be able to distribute the film over loads of different vendors and channels as the film grows during the spring!
Speak more soon, take care everyone!
