So the title and theme was announced today for the third and final spex film I’ll be directing for S:t Petri high school, and it’s called Harry Spexter.
So, the title obviously implies a pretty heavy connection with the famous franchise about a young wizard, which we felt fit perfectly with shooting mainly at a big school. It will also be an easy way to involve loads of people in the production. More info as soon as it arrives!

Announcing the third and final installment in the Spex Trilogy.
Working a lot right now – we have loads of stuff to do at Skurup and I have several other projects I’m working on simultaneously. One of these, which I’m officially announcing today, is the upcoming spex film for S:t Petri high school! This is the third, and final film I’ll be shooting for the spex team over at my former high school, and it will be loads of fun to step back behind the camera and shoot the final part in the Spex Trilogy which so far includes both Spex and the City as well as the latest release, SpexArn.
We have now been in pre-production for nearly two months, and with production to start in about 4 weeks, things are really moving into the next gear. I feel we also have a much tighter, more focused screenplay this year which is not only going to make the film work more as a proper story, but also outside the school walls.
The premiere for the film is this December 9th and 10th at S:t Petri high school. I hope to see you there, and check back soon for more information as production comes closer and closer. The theme for the show this year is probably the best one so far, and one very tightly connected to shooting mainly at the school. But that’s all I can say for now, stay tuned for more very very soon!
The film’s page is also online right here and will feature more info as production comes closer.
Still studying at Skurups Folkhögskola – making loads of short films and having to work with loads of different people is truly a great learning experience. Planning to probably shoot a small film documenting the way to and from the school sometime next week – using the 7D is really, really inspiring. But before any of that, I’ll be heading off to the premiere of Fatale, a werewolf film I worked on as DoP and VFX Supervisor on a few months back. The film premieres in about ten hours, and it’s going to be fun to meet all of the cast and crew again and watch the film on the big screen. While there’s no ordinary teaser trailer for it available, check out this sneak peak – which was all shot on greenscreen! Hopefully this Facebook embedded video will work for all of you!
Still trying to connect the website with some social networking features, but it’s being quite difficult, and will most probably be something for the next version of the website due to launch later this year. Also, having some announcements pretty soon, so stay tuned everyone!
Take care!
The teaser trailer for Short Film #21, which is co-produced by Redhawk Productions, as well as having me as 1st AD and 2nd Unit DoP, just premiered its teaser trailer online. It was just a few weeks since we shot some of this footage, and it’s great to see how it looks so close to the production. Hope you like it!
Speak more soon, take care everyone!
Just got my hands on my new camera, the Canon 7D! It’s mainly built like a stills camera but also has a truly stunning movie feature which by far knocks out the footage from my 10kg Redrock FX1 rig. I think this is a direction I’ll be moving towards in the future – shooting Full HD on a camera which weighs less than 2 kg and has a really big and crisp sensor really is the way to go – it really is a first step towards Digital Cinema from ordinary video. To celebrate, I’ve put together a small test video of stuff I’ve shot with it since I got it four days ago:
Let me know what you think! Also, I’ve been studying at Skurups Folkhögskola the last two weeks – I’m crazy busy with filmmaking and life feels absolutely amazing at the moment. Expect a bigger update tomorrow afternoon! Until then, take care!
