So SpexArn is now all finished and ready for its internet release in a month or so. Can’t wait to show it to everyone :) Also, the DVD sales will begin very soon – but first, I’m heading off to a two-week vacation in Thailand and (probably) Cambodia. It’s going to be a fun and exciting trip – it’s been quite some time since I’ve been further than London so can’t wait to see Asia – will bring my camera along to document the trip and hopefully shoot a bunch of interesting shots – will probably post some pictures from the trip here during my vacation ;) Yes, I am addicted to posting here, so much that I’ll even do it on vacation ;)

But speak more very soon, planning to go to bed now as I have pretty much a full day of traveling ahead of me! Take care everyone, and I’ll speak to you all very very soon!

Exposed

Hot on the heels of SpexArn, pre-production has just begun on the new film from Redhawk Productions, Exposed. The first original film since Campsite, Exposed heads into a brand new type of film for the filmmaking company.

I have been working on this film for quite some time, around since SpexArn was first screened in December. The story and screenplay is rapidly approaching completion, and it’s been a fun experience to write my first film all in Swedish, while adjusting to a genre I basically have little or no experience with. Exposed is first and foremost a romantic mystery drama about a photographer, his friends, and his approach to the medium. After recently getting more and more of an interest in urban exploration – exploring abandoned areas to get good photographs, our photographer always strives for new challenges. But during just another photography tour, he uncovers a mystery that will change both him and the people around him…

The story is subject to change, I’ll just say that up front – I can’t wait to go into production on this film though, as it’s been a long time coming! Will start the casting process relatively soon – also trying to make this production much more open (or exposed, if you will) for you here on this website. While both Campsite and to some part SpexArn was a more closed and secretive production, I’ll try to gather some more behind-the-scenes stuff for you to see this time around. The film will also be much more of a collaborative effort, where everyone involved in the production have their say in how the film play out. Most of the crew, and probably some of the cast, from both Campsite and SpexArn will be back for this project, which is set to be my longest film so far in terms of shooting time. The film isn’t really focused on visual effects, so it shouldn’t be a year until you see it ;)

As it is right now, the film is set to start shooting late April/early May of this year, with a late summer premiere. While that is all I can tell you at the moment, check back in a few days for more…

Also, will be setting up a Facebook page for people who are interested in contributing to the production in any way, either in front of or behind the camera, but it’ll be a few days!

Can’t wait to start production on the film, it’s going to be loads of fun! :)

SpexArn updates
Also updated the SpexArn page to show the latest news concerning that project which has its internet premiere late March. The film, which has subtitles, is all ready for release following a small local DVD and Blu-Ray release, as I wrote a few posts back.

Speak much more very very soon! Take care everyone! :D

So here is another one of those timelapse tests I’m currently busy doing! Planning to incorporate some timelapses in my next film project (which will be announced tomorrow!). Also note that it’s a bit shaky due to some tripod wobbling but I think it turned out pretty fun, even if it’s only a very short test with just some grading applied. And as always, some awesome music by in-house composer Nils Bülow! Uploaded it in 1080p so the image quality is pretty cool!

Shot with my new Canon 50D along with a Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 lens, with a picture taken every 150 second (or once every minute for the first part of the timelapse).

Speak more tomorrow, take care, and hope you have a great valentine’s day! :)

EDIT: Seems to be a small technical issue at the end of the clip, but it should be fine to watch for now – will update it later to fix it!

Feb 2010 13

It’s been a while, since late August last year actually, since production of my latest film began, and after shooting it in a week and doing post work on it for about 7 weeks the film premiered early December during the Petri spex show in Malmö. The whole show was shot multi-cam style with 3 cameras (thanks Johannes and Erik for the help!) and edited during the christmas break. Also worked on a very big bunch of special features for the film, namely a Behind-The-Scenes short, two DVD and Blu-Ray exclusive short films, ten minutes (!) of outtakes and loads of more stuff. Still have some menu work and debugging to do on the Blu-Ray version of the film, but the DVD is all done and ready for the duplication process, which means the film will be available for sale locally in about two weeks tops I’d say. It was incredibly relaxing albeit a bit weird to finish the film, as it is every time. This also means I have a better estimate on when the SpexArn internet release date will be, and for now an approximate release window is

LATE MARCH, 2010 (subject to change!)

As mentioned, this obviously depends heavily on the DVD sales but as a majority of people buy the DVD and Blu-Ray for the special features it shouldn’t be that big of a deal to release the film to the internet.

But one more thing! I’ve been writing on my next film project, set to go into production this spring, for a while now and it’s rapidly approaching 20 pages. Having some meetings with friends next week to brainstorm the script a bit – even though most of the story is pretty much thought out. But now that SpexArn is finished, I thought I’d head straight into announcing titles and again posting loads of stuff concerning the film’s production. It’s a pretty big departure from what I’ve done before, making it an even bigger challenge, but one that will be fun to try and figure out.

Check back THIS MONDAY (the 15th) for the first poster and the title for the film. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Take very good care everyone and happy valentine’s day tomorrow!

P.S. As I mentioned in my last post, some films are being upgraded to 1080p! Cell, for example, is now available in really high quality so go check out the film from 2006 right away. And yes, that makes me feel pretty old.
