With my one-week off from school rapidly coming to a close, I thought it’d be cool to write a few lines on what I’ve been up to the last week.

Been working on “Campsite” quite a lot, been showing it to a bunch of filmmakers, FXhomers and friends to get a few ideas before moving in too deep in post-production. While it’s really something new for me, it’s obviously very helpful and a big “thank you” to everyone involved in the process. The edit of the film has been locked, and I’ve now moved on to the quite difficult task of colour grading. Most of the film takes place at night, although we shot most of it daytime. While I don’t doubt that this was a good decision, it’s still a lot of work to make everyting look good. Especially when the main actress wears black make-up around her eyes, making them dissapear almost instantly at the slightest hint of any reduction of brightness or heightening of contrast. But it feels as if it’s all coming together rapidly now – everything is according to schedule at the moment, and hopefully it’ll stay that way until the film is finished, which is in April! That’s right, just a little under two months before the film should be finished. I’m pretty confident I’ll make it though. If not, expect blog posts filled with despair and manic outbursts the next few weeks ;)

I went to the library earlier today to get some books for Swedish class at school, and came across their section for renting out video games. So without any cost, I loaned “Condemned 2: Bloodshot” for a week at no cost at all. Awesome initiative from the city of Malmö, that’s for sure.

I’m hooked on Twitter! While I joined the popular short-message based blogging website a couple of months ago, I’ve just recently started to use it more as friends have joined up. It’s a really cool system, and a cool system for posting stuff you find on the internet or other generally interesting notes. So if you’re on Twitter, add http://www.twitter.com/nilscrone right now!

Going to Gothenburg tomorrow early morning by train with Johannes to meet up with Fredrik and among other things attend “Fotomässan 2009” – a photography expo – to check out some new technology, cool photographs and loads of other photo-related stuff. Also going to watch “Friday the 13th” tomorrow evening at the awesome and modern cinema “Filmstaden Bergakungen”.

Hopefully I’ll find some kind of internet connection tomorrow – but if not, you’ll hear from me after the weekend – should also be able to post some pics from the expo!

Take care everyone! :)

Well, it’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally managed to upload a high definition version of Zombie Exterminator, which should be easier to play for people (instead of the .mkv files used earlier). Go over to the film’s page and check it the now one-year old film in a way you haven’t seen before!

More news later today!

Just a couple more days now before a week off from school, and I can’t wait. Been studying quite intensely the last couple of weeks – which means it’s going to be good to finally get some rest and work on other stuff. Planning to take lots of photographs, hang out with friends and continue work on “Campsite” of course.

Actually, in a way school ends on Wednesday after our big test in physics – most of us will probably just be too tired to do anything worthwhile in school. But now I’m off to get some more driving done so this will be quite a short post – only 2 driving lessons left now, after which I’ll do my final exam and hopefully end up with a license.

Talk to you all soon, take care! :D

(P.S. I thought it’d be fun to try and use some cool film quotes – slightly modified, obviously – as post titles from now on – if you know what film they’re from don’t hesitate to post in the comments!)

Hey everyone – it’s been quite a while since I wrote anything here, and the biggest reason is I’ve been quite busy the last couple of weeks.

Filmmaking is great at the moment, “Campsite” is just about a week away from having it’s edit locked, which means I’ll be able to move into more of the VFX stuff. Was on the countryside this last weekend with Johannes and Mahdi, where we recorded a huge bunch of sound effects for the film. I guess in theory I could’ve just used free sound effects from the internet, but it felt better to just go out and record them in the areas we shot the film a few months ago. Also, it was a fun experience which I remembered since the summer of 2007, when me and Johannes recorded sound effects for “16″. Obviously, we did a lot of other stuff too, such as playing a lot of video games. Oh, and Mahdi is done with his ADR sections for the film which is great. While I’m not able to say a final deadline for the finished film, it’s approaching completion quite rapdily. Not sure what I’ll do once the film’s done though, except get some rest ;)

While I’ve been an avid user of Adobe After Effects for the last couple of years, these last few weeks I’ve really tried to learn some new things – partly related to visual effects, but also designing cool logos and such. Started to learn a whole lot of “expressions” in the software – helps when you’re trying to create random movement of objects – often helpful in jobs related to designing logos and motion graphics for commercials and such.

I’ve seen a lot of great films lately – most notably I finally managed to see “Pan’s Labyrinth” – a fantastic film which I urge everyone to check out right away. Oh, and don’t watch the English dub of it, for obvious reasons. Still waiting for “Slumdog Millionare” to hit theatres here in Sweden…oh, and saw “The Boondock Saints” last Saturday; a great film, also recommended.

Just started a photography group at school, every 2nd week we’re going to take some new photos spread across various subjects and themes, and frame them at school. Currently though, a lot of other stuff is happening over at school – a lot of tests the upcoming two weeks. I seriously can’t wait for February’s week off, which starts on week eight.

Talk to you guys and gals soon ;)
