The 15-second commercial I made for a contest back in September is now available for everyone to stream directly on the website or download in HD 720p quality! Unfortunately the film wasn’t selected for the final round which takes place this upcoming Monday, so I decided it’d be fun to show all of you what I managed to put together in about a day.
Check out the film and also some more info on it’s page, which can be reached either by clicking here or by using the sidebar to the right.
Comments are disabled for this post as all film comments would better fit on the film’s page.
Been some time since I wrote here. Partly there’s been loads of things to do at school, and partly because I haven’t really had anything to say until now.
Well, I have finally wrapped production on Campsite! It’s been a long time coming now, and it’s good to finally get to move into proper post-production. We shot the final scenes last Saturday, and I should have some cool behind-the-scenes photos by Fredrik for you quite soon. Oh, and you might see some pictures from the final film early December…stay tuned for that
Also wrapped production, as well as finished the school film Spex and the City I’ve been working on. It’s been a really fun project, and it seemed as if a lot of people liked it during the pre-showing at school yesterday. It officially premieres on December 4th with the S:t Petri Spex at the Ibis Hotel here in Malmö. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to upload anything to show you though – but I’ve created a page for the film which outlines the story as well as a few background facts with the production. While not as time-consuming as, say, Zombie Exterminator – I’m really glad with how the film turned out. So if you’re near Malmö on Thursday or Friday, go see it (although you need to get tickets for it – details on the film’s page).
Going out today to film some more stuff, actually a music video I’ve been hired to make. Should be a lot of fun, and I should be busy working almost the entire day.
In gaming news, I bought and finished Gears of War 2, which was extremely awesome. Currently playing through the co-op campaign on the hardest difficulty with a friend of mine, which is loads of fun. But even better, I bought Rock Band 2, which was released without warning here in Sweden. My friend Erik told me about it at school, so I just went to pick it up the day after. It’s pretty much Rock Band 1, but with some improvements and a really big (over 80 songs) setlist.
Can’t wait for christmas vacation, just under 3 weeks to go!
Until next time, take care!
This day brings with it a massive gallery update, with two new galleries and over 70 new images! Take a look at them by visiting the gallery section!
Work on the spex film moves on. The edit is pretty much locked down, and I’m way deep into post-production and the goal is to have it done by next Sunday. Now I’ll have to get back to studying for an upcoming physics test at school – unsurprisingly, it’s extremely difficult and quite boring. Going to see Saw V later today though, should be loads of fun!
Until next time, take care!
Happy to announce that Fredrik Steffen – who is behind all those nifty behind-the-scenes photos from “Campsite” has officially joined the Redhawk Productions crew. It just felt like a natural evolution after knowing Fredrik for such a long time and seeing the quality and attention to detail he brings to his photographs, and I’m confident we’ll be getting a whole lot of more cool photos as production and post-production moves on! I’ve added him to the crew page too, go over there and take a look right now.
(Still watching the U.S. election)
While staying hard at work on my new film “Campsite”, I’ve taken a break from it to work on my first real paid job in filmmaking. I’m currently working on a film for my high school’s spex comitee. A spex is sort of a comedy show put on by students from the school once a year, and on my school it’s always predeceeded by a film – which I got the job of filming this year. So I’m taking a break from “Campsite”, just for a few weeks, to work on this film. As I’ve been free from school for the last week, I’ve had quite a lot of time, so we managed to shoot the entire 15-20 minute film in just six days. It’s been a fun experience so far, and it’s cool to see how it all comes together in the editing room. It’s due to be shown for an audience early December, so I’ve got pretty much exactly a month to get everything right. Shouldn’t take that long though, as I’ve already edited ten out of 14 scenes. The film involves a lot of dialouge, which makes it interesting as this makes it my second dialouge-heavy and character-based project in a row, which is fun – it’s obviously also good to get a lot of experience working with various types of projects, as diversity really is something you need to succeed in this line of work.
As I won’t be able to show you the film on the website – it’s going to be shown at the spex early December, then be sold at school on DVD, I don’t think it’s really neccessary to put up a seperate page for it.
Work continues on “Campsite” as always of course – some scheduling conflicts have forced me to move the last remaining three scenes to an upcoming weekend. Post-Production is well underway though, and I will soon be moving into ADR recording, as soon as the edit is pretty much locked down.
Oh, and this news post was horribly delayed – as well as two reviews. Can’t say when the reviews will pop up, but they shouldn’t be too far away on the horizon.
Now I’m off to watch some stuff concerning the imminent election in the U.S.; then going to bed to get a good night’s sleep – it’s been quite a long day…
Oh, and if you want to read up about what Spex is, just click here.
Take care!
