Hey everyone, I’m sorry there hasn’t really been any news or updates this week so far. Again, I had to basically spend ALL of my free time studying for a history test last friday. It seems like all the teachers are putting all the tests at the end of the term, which is quite different from what I’m used to, compared to my older schools. Well, anyway, two tests this week, one biology and one physics test. But I guess this is not really very interesting, so here comes some other stuff!

As you may have noticed I promised last week that the alternate cut of “Cell” would be up this week. Well, I edited it and graded it, and it’s pretty interesting to see how it’s coming along. I must remind you all again that this is by no means a better version, in fact I would deem it a bit worse. It’s basically another version of the whole movie that we shot. Think of it like some kind of alternate or deleted scenes that you may find in a DVD, and you’re pretty close to what I’m creating. To avoid dissapointment I won’t say a date when I can put both that movie and the final part of the New York Video diary up on the website, but I can promise you won’t have to wait much more.

I’ve made some progress on “Showdown”, despite the massive school overkill! I did some nice grading and effects for the now 3 scenes that are shot, and it’s looking pretty good so far (I’ll have to re-shoot some really small things, but I’ll do that later). I will probably shoot one or two scenes this weekend, focusing on a character I still havn’t filmed a scene with yet (although he’s been in several movies of mine before, this is something pretty different from what he’s done before), so that will probably be a lot of fun.

I have also started planning on another shorter movie I will shoot within the upcoming weeks. It’s great and all to do Showdown, but it’s also cool to make short movies, so I can upload something to the internet :P . Well, it’s a really special story, and it’s somewhat similar to one of my previous movies, although in a more extreme manner. You’ll find out in a couple of weeks what it’s all about, but I can promise you it might not be for the faint-of-heart, hehe. (No, it’s not Cell 2 btw, heh)

Just realised that I really havn’t played my PS3 almost at all since I got it. Most of it is probably because the now well-known massive school mega-overload, but it might also be for the fact that there really are no games yet that are super-exciting. Still looking for games on 360 of course, but April is generally a very slow month for video games. Some games are going to be released at the end of this month which I am very interested in: Rainbow Six: Vegas and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (Tom Clancy games ftw)

I have also bought some DVDs in the last week. I ordered a package about a week ago from Discshop with 10 movies. I can’t remember all of them right now, but they were all really good, and I have a few short recommendations for you!

First off, you have to see Magnolia! Yeah, I know, I’m probably a bit late to not have got around watching it until now, but I promise you, it’s really, really amazing! It’s a drama on how different lives are connected during one day in San Fransisco. Now, it sure does sound like the recent oscar-winning “Crash”, but this movie is completely different. I believe it was made in 1999, and it has some great actors in it, to name a few Tom Cruise and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Another movie I can really recommend is Old Boy. It’s this Korean movie about a guy who is locked up without appearant reason for 15 years, and then suddenly set free. The rest of the movie is about his struggle to get revenge on the people who did this to him. It features some great acting, and some awesome action sequences. Give it a rent, I can’t imagine that would be too expensive.

So this is basically all I have time to say today, it’s getting pretty late and I have school early tomorrow (although almost half of our day is cancelled, we quit at about 11 instead of 15!) More movie recommendations and news later this week, take care everyone. Over-and-out!
