Hey, so I just wanted to update you on what’s currently going on in my life, and what’s going on with future projects.

So school is actually a bit calmer than it was before easter break, which is nice. No tests this week, and I’m not sure if there is any test next week, I think there’s a math one though. A lot of the subjects seem to be easier in some way, don’t really know how to describe it, but anyway it’s cool. We watched “Chicken Run” today in English class, which is an awesome movie. Great humour, great animation and a pretty moving story actually. Some of my dry classmates insisted on not seeing through the fact that every character is made out of clay, which I found a bit odd. Anyway, the movie is by the creators of the Wallace & Gromit TV episodes, and the recently released “Were-Rabbit” movie. If you havn’t seen it yet, go rent or buy it, you should be able to find it in some lowbudget corner in your local video store.

Since I got my PS3 a few weeks ago, I’ve now got some Blu-Ray movies. The video and sound quality is astounding, but it’s still too expensive for me to give up the “old” DVD format. I calculated a bit and figured out that you can buy about 3 or 4 times as much DVD movies for every Blu-Ray movie. But, if you’ve got the cash (which I havn’t got at the moment :P ) go for Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, it’s really good. I havn’t seen many HD-DVD movies yet, I know that Johannes has the external player for Xbox 360, but I’ve only seen Syriana on it yet. I think he’s got 3 or 4 more movies now though. Will have to go there sometime and see them :) . I’ve yet to see any real difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, I think they are just as good (yes, even if HD-DVD is better at interactivity at the moment). A favorite “next-gen moment” was when I saw Syriana on HD-DVD at Johannes’ house, and you could choose an audio track for blind people. So there would be this narrating voice throughout the movie explaining and commenting everything that is going on in the movie. So you get narration like “The man is leaving the restaurant.”

So I finished editing on scene 1 and 2 for Showdown earlier today, and I’ve sent it round to some persons, and got generally good comments. Still, it’s a bit weird to see the scenes so unfinished, since both of them is going to look completely different than how we shot it. Will probably have some cast announcements sometime soon, since we’re at the moment getting all the different roles together. There are a few roles left, but I’ve got a few good ideas of good actors and friends who are good in the roles. Yeah, friends will probably be acting in most of the roles, since we’re making the movie almost without any kind of budget. The script is soon done, and it should be all done and completed in about a month. I think it has so far become really a lot better than anything I’ve done before, with some interesting characters, and plot twists. The first two persons to read my script will probably be Johannes and Nils B, on our trip to Gothenburg we make every year after school. Will probably bring a digital camera this year and take some photos, and then upload them to Flickr. Can’t promise anything yet though, but it would be great to bring something to show you all.

One really cool things that happened to me was the fact that I signed the contract for FXhome.com, which in a way makes me a semi-employee of the company. I now get exciting secret information that I can’t tell anyone else about, which is nice *evil laugh*.

So keep tuned on here on the website for more info about the cast of Showdown, since most of them will be announced in a couple of days.

Take care everybody!

Some of you might have been aware of that about two weeks ago I went to Zürich in Switzerland to see the world premiere of the FXhome movie NightCast, and meet all the people from FXhome, which I’ve been chatting with for over 4 years now. Anyway, I made a small video diary, which is available in the movie section. The movie is probably not that interesting to any non-FXhomers, but it’s pretty fun if you know who all the people are.

Stay tuned later today for a long news post about a lot of stuff!
