Hey everyone! Here comes some updates concerning the progress of Showdown, school, life and other things.
We managed to shoot the first scene for Showdown about a week ago, and it turned out pretty good. I posted a small teaser trailer earlier this week so go see that if you want to see some footage from the first scene (keep in mind that none of the grading is final, and some of the shots might and probably will alter from how they will look in the final movie). So I finally started to really edit the movie today, after studying for like 4½ hours. Yeah, my school is pretty crazy.
So, we have 5 tests in two weeks, and 3 of those are located on next week’s Thursday and Friday. Pretty stressful, and pretty stupid, if you ask me. The subjects are History, Spanish and Chemistry. I’m pretty interested in History, but Spanish and Chemistry…not so much. Other than that, it’s pretty good to be back from the small one-week vacation I had earlier. It’s always nice to see friends, and chat about weird stuff. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that the free week was over waaay to quickly.
I saw some good movies during the small break too. I finally got around to see “The Departed” (which won several Oscars a few days ago, including Best Picture). It was pretty amazing, and also pretty violent and brutal. Not for the faint-of-heart. I also saw Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, which I thought was utterly brilliant. Some really funny moments in that flick, especially in the “special” sequence which is close to the middle of the movie. I laughed so hard during it, that I almost fell over and died. 
Today FXhome.com also posted the “official” news post stating when and where the Nightcast (a movie made by Marco Von Moos, a friend of mine) premiere would take place. I got my tickets a couple of weeks back, and now it’s almost under a month until I’m going to Switzerland to see the movie, which I think will be awesome. I will bring my HDV camcorder and document the whole journey (not sure if it’ll end up here though, I think the FXhome guys will put something together from all the footage). Anyway, (almost) the whole FXhome crew, and some other members will be there, so it will be cool to finally meet them after 4 years of only talking to them through a chat client.
Less than a month until Playstation 3 is released too, which I think will rule.
And no, I havn’t forgotten about the video diary from Showdown…I’ll have to redo it so I can include some of the new footage. Keep your eyes peeled on the website for more updates.
Although, I have to inform you that there might not be as regular updates in the upcoming 2 weeks, because of massive school overkill.
Another thing! I have already starting planning what I’ll do after Showdown, and I promise you, it will be nothing alike what I’ve done before in terms of story and genre. To be honest, I have never heard of a movie with the story I’ve come up with. Still, it’s a pretty long time until I can tell you more about that.
