Pretty tired, pretty lazy…still quite crazy!
Nils Croné | 27 February, 2007 | 10:47 pmHey everyone! Here comes some updates concerning the progress of Showdown, school, life and other things.
We managed to shoot the first scene for Showdown about a week ago, and it turned out pretty good. I posted a small teaser trailer earlier this week so go see that if you want to see some footage from the first scene (keep in mind that none of the grading is final, and some of the shots might and probably will alter from how they will look in the final movie). So I finally started to really edit the movie today, after studying for like 4½ hours. Yeah, my school is pretty crazy.
So, we have 5 tests in two weeks, and 3 of those are located on next week’s Thursday and Friday. Pretty stressful, and pretty stupid, if you ask me. The subjects are History, Spanish and Chemistry. I’m pretty interested in History, but Spanish and Chemistry…not so much. Other than that, it’s pretty good to be back from the small one-week vacation I had earlier. It’s always nice to see friends, and chat about weird stuff. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that the free week was over waaay to quickly.
I saw some good movies during the small break too. I finally got around to see “The Departed” (which won several Oscars a few days ago, including Best Picture). It was pretty amazing, and also pretty violent and brutal. Not for the faint-of-heart. I also saw Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, which I thought was utterly brilliant. Some really funny moments in that flick, especially in the “special” sequence which is close to the middle of the movie. I laughed so hard during it, that I almost fell over and died.
Today FXhome.com also posted the “official” news post stating when and where the Nightcast (a movie made by Marco Von Moos, a friend of mine) premiere would take place. I got my tickets a couple of weeks back, and now it’s almost under a month until I’m going to Switzerland to see the movie, which I think will be awesome. I will bring my HDV camcorder and document the whole journey (not sure if it’ll end up here though, I think the FXhome guys will put something together from all the footage). Anyway, (almost) the whole FXhome crew, and some other members will be there, so it will be cool to finally meet them after 4 years of only talking to them through a chat client.
Less than a month until Playstation 3 is released too, which I think will rule.
And no, I havn’t forgotten about the video diary from Showdown…I’ll have to redo it so I can include some of the new footage. Keep your eyes peeled on the website for more updates.
Although, I have to inform you that there might not be as regular updates in the upcoming 2 weeks, because of massive school overkill.
Another thing! I have already starting planning what I’ll do after Showdown, and I promise you, it will be nothing alike what I’ve done before in terms of story and genre. To be honest, I have never heard of a movie with the story I’ve come up with. Still, it’s a pretty long time until I can tell you more about that.
Well, take care everybody!

Hey everyone! I figured out that exactly today it has been 7 years since I first started making movies, stop-motion LEGO movies using a still image camera, during a visit in Copenhagen. Don’t really know what else to write, I just thought it would be fun to let everyone know…I’m sure there are a lot of fun years to come…
Hey everyone! Yeah, I know, I suck at deadlines, but at least here is the first (of five) video diaries from New York. I shot these in October last year, but I didn’t have any time to edit them until now. Well, I managed to get the first day together, it is basically about the journey from our home to the hotel in New York.
Clockwork Orange" and "The Shining"). I really enjoyed every bit of it, even if it was a tad bit too long. I would have liked to see more of the life in the boot camp, which featured some great acting from lots of different performers. I won’t say anything about the story, since I don’t want to ruin it for anyone, but definently get around to watch it if you have the chance to. It shouldn’t be very expensive to get on DVD, since it’s a quite old movie now.
er movie I saw was "American History X", which is a pretty terrifying, yet interesting story about the life of a person, Danny (played fantastically by Edward Norton), and his very racistic view on society. This changes dramatically when he get’s arrested for killing three other persons, who are trying to break into his car. His younger brother still lives in the very racisitc world of his own, and the movie is about how Danny tries to get his younger brother away from the horrible life that he basically has created for him to live. I found this movie very, very scary actually. I mean, it’s not like there are any shocks or "boo!-moments" but it’s just pretty terrifying to see the lives of these characters and the people they were friends with before. I can really recommend this movie to everyone. I warn you though, it’s pretty violent, and even made me close my eyes during some moments in the movie.
knows the now historic line of dialouge "Are you talking to me?", which is said by Robert De Niro, who plays the taxi driving Travis Bickle. He has some pretty interesting views on the society, and says that "someday, a giant wave of water will come and flush all the scum of the street". When this doesn’t happen, he decides to deal with it himself, and gets more and more paranoid and confused during the movie. It features some of the best performances I have ever seen, with De Niro probably giving the performance of his life. Even one of my favorite actors Harvey Keitel (featured in to name a few "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction" and "From Dusk til Dawn") has a small role in it.
Another fourth film I saw was "Fight Club" the David Fincher (also director of "Se7en") movie, which features Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Boham-Carter in the main roles. It’s the story of a man who can’t sleep, and goes to different help groups around the town. It all get’s pretty complex from there, so it’s quite hard to describe, but it’s really easy to understand when you watch the movie. I really can’t say anything more than just to tell everyone that you definently have to see this movie! Come to think of it, it’s not really a movie, it’s more of a experiment.
